Chapter 1 provides a general method (the so-called well-stirred condition method) to characterize the quality of the field generated in an RC. The method, which is fast and accurate, aims at defining the minimum frequency where an RC can be considered “well-stirred.” After giving a clear definition of this important concept, the method is illustrated on the stirring technique the most used nowadays, a mechanically stirred RC, in other terms when the enclosure is equipped with a rotating mode stirrer. In addition, MATLAB programs related to this method are available on the IET website.
Finally, a concluding chapter identifies and explores some of the exciting developments and open issues that represent emerging trends in reverberation chamber research.
